I should have gained a few pounds by now, but I haven't.
It's all of these food aversions that's doing it. My nausea and morning sickness have completely ceased, but my appetite sadly has not returned. And not only have I not gained any weight, but I've actually lost a few pounds!
Since becoming pregnant, I've have to give up all caffeinated products (Coca Cola, Tea, Cappuccino) and all aspartame containing products (Diet sodas, Fresca, Low-Fat Yogurt) and I've had to drink a TON of water to stay hydrated for me, and the baby. All of these healthy changes have definitely contributed to a bit of weight loss, and weight redistribution throughout my body.
I'm not really showing much yet, except for a tiny bump down below my belly button. Which is okay with me, as much as I'd like to be showing, I don't want to end up with something so large that I've got stretch marks that match the local country roads and a saggy belly fit for any Santa Claus. But it'd be nice if people could recognize that I was pregnant once in a while.
I'm very much enjoying this second trimester business, I feel like I've got a bit of energy back. I haven't experienced any frequent urination or abdominal hardness, and it's starting to get a lot more fun! Matt's starting to come to terms with the fact that this is actually happening, despite the fact I've got to continually kick his butt to read the baby book.
He'll get on board yet, I know it.
