We decided to take a trip out to the West coast of Canada to explore the mountains, check out the ocean, and have a really cool time in our own country! It turned out to be a total blast! We hiked through a rainforest, saw the coolest aquarium ever, toured an authentic Ming-dynasty Chinese garden, went surfing in the Pacific ocean, whale watching, and so much more! It was a dream!
Except for a couple of baby-related hiccups along the way!
My UTI was fortunately recovered by the time we left which was just excellent. However my nausea persisted, resulting in a total of 3 good throw-ups! Once in the car on the drive there, once on the boat trip to the rain forest, and once on the boat trip back! And let me tell you, a tuna salad sandwich tastes a LOT better going down than it does coming back up!
I also got incredible cravings on the trip, resulting in a heated pursuit of nectarines and bing cherries at 10:30 at night in the middle of Vancouver. We ran all over that city looking for somewhere that was open, that would sell these items to us. Eventually we found them, and boy were they satisfying!
Hiking along the boardwalk in the rain forest proved to be quite the endeavor with my new pregnancy stamina! And I didn't want to let on that I was getting exhausted because our beautiful hostess (and my very best pal) Kirsten didn't know yet! Although, when we got to the hot springs at the end of the hike, she found out that she was my one person and I told her. Now that was an excited lady! I don't think I've ever heard anyone scream so loud! Matt was down on the rocks and could hear her shriek. He immediately knew what had happened.
