So a while back, before I completely lost the internet (by the way, you have NO idea how much you depend on it until it is GONE) I was tagged in one of the blogs I follow - Two Cents of Thiessen - which I love and follow because it's about pregnancy and babies, and Alyssa is just so dang cute... :) She had these questions that she wanted some of her fellow bloggers to answer, just for fun. Although I am extremely late in doing so, I finally have the opportunity to answer them! So, just for fun, this is an entry that has absolutely nothing to do with baby!
1. When you were growing up, what did you want to be?
First I wanted to be a "farmer's wife" - no joke - because I wanted to be able to feed the baby chicks all day. Then I watched the Great Panda Adventure, and decided I was for sure going to save panda's in China. And then I was going to be a pilot. But weirdly, I always ALWAYS knew I was going to be a mom. Even when I was just a little toddler, I used to haul my younger brother Lucas around under one arm saying that he was "my baby." :P
2. If you were given an exorbitant amount of money and were told you had to spend it all in one place immediately, what would you do with it?
See, one track mind here. First thing that comes to mind is "Babies R' Us" haha, I'm so predictable. But, being practical, my second thought is "Can you spend money at a bank?" I guess you could put it onto a prepaid credit card... Geez. Talk about an uninteresting answer to that one!
3. If you had to choose one food to eat exclusively on a deserted island for the next year, what would it be and why?
First thought is fruit. Any kind of fruit, I don't care which one. This entire pregnancy I have been obsessed with the stuff, and even before that I was kind of a fanatic. My mom tells me that when I was a baby, I used to love it too. With all of its fruity deliciousness... like nature's candy.
4. Where were you at this time last week?
This time last week I was at work. Working. Being ever so interesting, and probably complaining about my knee pain to my coworkers.
5. What do you want to know about the future?
The gender of my baby, and whether or not he/she is going to be healthy and adorable. Although, I already know yes, and yes. :P But boy or girl, that's one I REALLY want to know! Grr, Matt... you ruin all my fun...
6. Do you collect anything?
Blank notebooks. Weird, right? But when I'm in Chapters, or Office Depot, or Friesens... I see those beautiful blank notebooks, with their uncracked spines, and their blank pages filled with endless possibilities, I just imagine myself putting a smooth blue pen to their pages and as I breathe in that incredible back-to-school aroma, I absolutely can not help but buy them. I have an enormous stack I have yet to use. :P
7. What are you looking forward to most in the next month?
Finally finishing my baby's nursery. I have waited a long time for the drywalling/mudding/taping/sanding/floor installation/ceiling installation to be finished, and gall darnit, that time is coming!
8. What would be one of your favourite childhood memories?
Haha, I have a lot of these. But I think Alyssa would get quite a kick out of this one... I remember it was winter, and we were outside playing in my front yard on the farm, and we were standing up on top of a giant snowdrift. It was dark, and cold, and there was a local dog barking its head off about a mile down the road but we could hear it clear as a bell. Within the next few minutes, I proceeded to convince Alyssa that I could talk to dogs, and barked back at it, periodically translating what the dog was saying back to us. I think we once collected rocks all over her yard, and made a rock museum in her bedroom too. Man we were as cool as it gets.
Okay, so I lied.
It ended up having a little bit to do with baby, after all. :)
Wow...Holly, I had TOTALLY forgotten about that! But as soon as I started reading your childhood memory, it came back to me completely. SO funny! You had me convinced...
