39 Weeks!
I know I'll only be officially 39 weeks tomorrow, but I figured one day won't make that big a difference. There was just such nice light streaming in the sun room windows I couldn't pass it up. And yes, I've thought about going outside in the cold to take the pictures (like my obviously much more dedicated blogger sister Alyssa - twocentsofthiessen.blogspot.com) but I just can't bring myself to do it. It's so COLD! But extremely beautiful! Too bad I'm just too much of a sucky baby.
Speaking of sucky babies, still none here! 8 days to go until my due date (however my money is on the 24th) and just finishing off some loose ends. We've installed the car seat in the car, equipped with fluffy Winnie-the-Pooh sleeping bag and all! We actually cleaned out and sterilized the entire car! Because I just couldn't imagine putting my new little baby into a sticky, dusty, random-item-filled car.
Other than that, I've just been lying around for most of my days. My mobility has decreased EVEN further, and I require massages multiple times a day. I also go through about 2 ice cube trays worth of ice per day (I just love it SO much!) Soaking in the bathtub has been absolutely magical.
Oh, and to my great dismay, baby STILL HASN'T DROPPED! Not for lack of pleading with it, however. Also, it's been kicking so hard that sometimes I think it might actually kick through my skin, alien-style. I actually had a very similar dream (nightmare?) about that the other day.
So just patiently waiting for my beautiful bundle of joy. Jotting its name(s) down on every piece of paper I see. Then making sure I dispose of it before anyone sees and spoils the surprise...
Matthew and I went on our last date last night! We decided we needed one more romantic evening alone just the two of us before the days start that we're going to need to find a babysitter. It was so wonderful. We went out for dinner at Earl's and then spent the rest of the evening lying around in bed, eating popcorn and watching movies, talking about the wonderful life we've built together. I highly recommend taking that opportunity, to anyone out there who's also pregnant. I know that in the months to come I'm really going to treasure the memory of the "last date." There will be more dates, of course, but none quite like that one.
8 days!

You are looking incredible!! I thought you should know that!
ReplyDeleteI am really excited for you and Matt...it's been really fun for me to keep up with you through fb/blogging seeing as we're pretty close in our due dates. Do you feel ready to have this baby any time now? (I know that I'm to the point where this baby could decide to come out tonight, and I'd be just fine with that!! And Mike too...he's pretty anxious to finally meet our little baby).
So have a great last few days of being pregnant...can you believe the nine months are drawing to a close?!
Congrats! Anytime now and you will have a sweet bundle of joy in your arms! Love your 39 weeks photos! You are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through Alyssa's blog and have been reading for a while now. I am due on the 21st of January with my second babe. It has been a joy to read your blog and I hope that you keep it up when you are busy with your little one!
Vicki - Thank you so much! Any girl who's feeling like a whale loves to hear that she's beautiful once in a while.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you've been enjoying my blog! I do hope to continue it, with stories of the joys and woes of new parenthood in the coming months. I'm sure I'll have TONS of writing material!
I hope all goes well with your new little one, and that your "only child" has an okay time with the transition. I know that my older brother STILL hasn't forgiven me from robbing him of his only-child rights. :P But then, I LOVED having younger siblings so, I'm sure everything will turn out awesome!
I also KNOW this baby is coming late, so I bet you anything yours will come first. And I wish you ALL The best! Speed, comfort, and only lovely memories! :D I hope you keep reading!
