It took a lot of researching, and debating, and deciding and hmming and hawing. It took a lot of interviewing friends who have had babies, and reading, and reviewing. But I've finally come up with my final and official birth plan for my labour and delivery!
I would have gone into more detail, but a lot of the resources I've found say that you should try to keep your birth plan straight and to the point, limit it to the really important yes-or-no types of things, and make sure it's only one page. Apparently, any more and pages get lost, nurses get confused, and busy doctor's just don't take the time to read it!
So here it is! I've made many copies to hand out at the hospital to whoever wants, also one to post on the baby's bed to make sure that no-one breaks any of my rules.

Love it (especially number 1 and 11)...I'm working on a bit of a birth plan as well...and I agree that it's good to keep it short, because let's face it, no nurse/doctor will want to read (and remember) an essay in the hospital.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for you as your due date gets closer and closer!! I hope you get at least one ridiculously awesome night of sleep before Baby arrives!
